Stephen Machin
Stephen Machin is Professor of Economics at University College London. He is also Executive Programme Director of the Industrial Relations programme at the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics and one of the editors of the Economic Journal.
His research interests are in empirical labour and industrial economics. He has written and published on many research topics, including the minimum wage, the rise in wage inequality, knowledge and skill accumulation, executive compensation, trade unions and corporate performance.
Current research interests include: intergenerational mobility; the role of technology and training in shaping skill structure; child development and relative success or failure in the youth labour market.
